Since 1976 I've been interested in photography. Capturing that short moment in time, a photo that tells a story 20 years down the line, a photo book of events, wild clothes, friends and live bands, romances and growing up. And I have rarely been anywhere since without my trusty camera. It's a love affair that continues to develop.
It all started with the usual snapshots of myself and friends as teenagers, progressing onto punk bands. My first live band photos were taken on June 25th 1977 - punk night @ Wigan Casino, through a haze of spit, beer throwing, frenzied atmosphere and madness. My first shot, featured a band called Slaughter & The Dogs from Manchester.
During the past couple of years, since the development of the internet and computing I have become more interested in the techniques of digital imagery, composition, quality shots and more recently pushing myself into planned photoshoots.

My favourite photographers are Cormac Figgis, Tina K, Karen McBride, Rachel F, Helmut Newton, Kevin Cummins, Eve Arnold for her Marilyn photos, Bob Gruen, David Bailey, Cecil Beaton, Bob Carlos Clarke, Jill Furmanovsky, Anne Geddes, Robert Mapplethorpe, Steven Meisel, Herbert Ritts.
I enjoy taking all kinds of photography - from live shows, Urban photography, places of historical interest, Classic cars, my cats, horses, the wilderness of the countryside, lakes, mountains and great landscapes. As you can see from the examples in my photo albums I do like variety - it's the spice of life!
My choice of weapon is a Nikon D60 DSLR, and sometimes a Canon IXUS (when I am unable to get a photopass). The software I favour is of course Photoshop CS4, Adobe Lightroom and Corel Paintshop pro.
I was lucky enough to have one of my photos published in The Guardian of Peter Perrett (The Only Ones). Latest news is that my photo has been used on the inside cover of the new E.P by The Stocks - 'Bring The Light'.
I've started work on a Mudkiss photos Myspace, which you can find here. I'm not sure I will find the time to update everything all at once though. My main site is www.mudkiss.com, this is where you will find show reviews, interviews and lots of interesting articles by myself and others.
